What the Types of Personality Disorders Are

The majority of people who blunder or make mistakes will learn from these experiences, we realize and acknowledge our faults and learn to not make the same mistakes. People who have a personality disorders have their own way of thinking and behaving that they will not change, this brings on relationship and social problems.

There are many types of personality disorders, so to make it easier to understand their behaviors and ways of thinking, the different types of disorders will be placed in categories of three separate groups.

Paranoid, Schizoid & Schizotypal Personality Disorders: People with a personality disorder from the first group often appear suspicious and distrustful of other people. Their behavior may seem odd and people may have trouble getting to know them, since they can be subject to weird behavior. They may spend a lot of time alone.

Antisocial, Borderline, Histrionic & Narcissistic Personality Disorders: People with these disorders can be excessively emotional and unstable. They are all impulsive, self-centered, and unapologetic. Drama plays an important role in their lives and they thrive on seeking attention and getting a reaction out of others. They may find it difficult to make friends or keep ongoing relationships.

Avoidance, Dependent, Obsessive-Compulsive & Passive-Aggressive Personality Disorders: People in this group of disorders are full of anxiety, are phobic, apprehensive, or obsessive.
It depends on the typ of personality disorder a person has, they can be overly shy, over demanding, or can be considered a perfectionist.

Everyone can be dependent or narcissistic, or even a little demanding at certain times, so it is hard to determine at which time the behavior becomes “pathological.” At times, the diagnosis of someone with a personality disorder can be difficult since people rarely fit neatly into any one category.

Seeing a therapist may help some people. Getting the right medication is important to control anxiety and stress levels.
